Q. I purchased an electronic copy of the book, but when I try to open it the file comes up with blank pages.
A. You are trying to open it from your email. First move the file onto your desktop and then open it.
Q. Are there different exams for different countries?
A. Yes, each country has their own criteria for assessing new candidates. The main goal or basic principle in evaluating a person's ability is to ensure they have the skills to become a controller. The ATC book and supplemental packages offered on my web site gives a person a large variety of different practical exercises along with a complete explanation of the formulas and how they apply to each type of problem. Not only is the book of value for would-be controllers, but it is also a great starting point for any person that has been selected and is commencing their training. Some countries evaluate new candidates by giving a series of tests that cover Verbal Evaluation, Numerical Computation, Diagramming, Spatial Reasoning and Basic checking where other countries use a variety of tests, including radar screen type and general aviation type exams.
Q. Can your book be ordered using a credit card?
A. Yes, Wilban Books is offering a secure credit card ordering process and it can be found on the 'Ordering' page. It is now possible to order using the currency of your country as there is a selection on the secure credit card order page to convert the cost from USD to AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP or JPY. Placing an order thru Paypal has been added as another method of payment via the Kagi Secure On-Line Credit Card Processing Store.
Q. Is the Book being offered on your web site specifically designed for one country?
A. No, the book and supplemental information/test included in an order are generic in nature. They provide candidates with a well-rounded exposure to the different types of tests that are administered by countries around the world during the selection process.
Q. I am in need of the rapid shipping of a book as I have just been informed I am writing my test in two weeks. Please help!
A. Book packages are shipped 'First Class Airmail', and that cost is covered in the price of the order. For faster service please contact wilban@kagi.com to discuss the option of 'courier collect' or 'Xpresspost'.
Q. Does Canada need foreign (France) already rated app/radar/twr controllers?
A. The Canadian ATC services are controlled and run by an organization called NavCanada. They are responsible for the total ATC services and are currently actively recruiting. The best way to answer your inquiry is for you to send NavCanada an e-mail as to their policy of hiring from outside Canada.
Q. We have a student interested in this field. I found your site on the internet. You are talking about the ATC Test. What type of schooling would you start with? A four year college or what? We have no idea where to start. Any information would be appreciated.
Logan High School, Logan,Ohio
A. The process of becoming an Air Traffic
Controller is normally through a number of tests and interviews and as each phase is
complete the top group moves on to the next phase. It is important for a new candidate to
have an understanding of the type of questions they might ask to allow him/her to score
high and move on to the next phase. This is where my book comes into play as it contains
over 500 problems to solve, and other valuable information about ATC.
The Federal Aviation Administration is an excellent resource where you will find useful information for your student. To get you started follow these links:

Q. I am a college graduate and interested in becoming an air traffic controller but I am not sure what the qualifications are. Could you please let me know if there are any minimums, and what must I need to qualify?
